Affordable Quality HousingAbramar is in the business of helping people build and realize a better life through home ownership. We provide quality affordable housing to the growing Brazilian middle class through our certification with Caixa Economica Federal´s (CEF) “Minha Casa Minha Vida” program, a government program committed to help finance the developing lower middle class to purchase homes. We play a role in reducing inadequate housing units in Brazil. Worldwide this is one of the greatest human environmental problems we face.
Environmentally conscious policiesWe undertake many environmentally friendly policies such as: - Environmental impact surveys for each project. We currently work with the Brazilian company Acquaplan
- Large natural "green areas" in each projects (i.e. Colina do Cedro boasts over 12,000 m²)
- Conserve local non-exotic trees and vegetation where possible by transplanting the trees or keeping it areas of land undeveloped
- Water treatment within the projects
- We recycle materials where possible:
- Reduce construction material waste during work for both environmental and financial efficiency by recycling materials such as wood
- We recycle the local resources on site (e.g. We converted the tons of rocks we found at the Colina do Cedro project into thousands (literally 28,500) of parallelepipeds which we used to not only pave the internal roads but the surrounding and access public roads as well)
- We have recycling bins and policies at the constructions sites
- We use land filling from our own land
- At our offices we lead by example by adopting several eco-friendly practices.
- We publish in our central portal, monthly updates & initiatives on how to manage our business in a more environmentally friendly way.
- We currently have a recycling and reduction program for all office supplies (especially paper and cartridges) and cafeteria items (we reuse our internal water bottles for example by putting initials on them)
